Are Bananas good or bad? Aren't they a carb and full of sugar!
--->YES, bananas are high in the "good" kinds of carbs you need after a workout. These fast-acting carbs will help restore your body's levels of glycogen, which helps rebuild damaged muscles.
:::NOTE:::
Very under-ripe bananas have a lot of starch in them and may be considered to be a complex carb. As the banana ripens, much of that starch converts to fructose and therefore, a very ripe banana would be considered to be a simple carb
Bananas are high in fiber and the "sugar" (fructose) will not spike your insulin level. They also provide lots of wonderful potassium.
