What is Keto???

What is Keto and how does Ketosis work?

With traditional diets you get energy from higher carbs but with the Keto diet you get energy from higher fats.  When you eat higher fat your glucose levels fall and Lipase releases stored Triglycerides. The fatty acids travel to the liver and produces Ketones which in turn gives energy to the body.

One of the most common uses for Keto is weight loss, however there are multiple reasons why Keto is a healthy alternative lifestyle.

After months researching Keto dieting I decided in 2017 to give this lifestyle a try; I'm so glad that I did. I have more energy and when I am in ketosis I see ounces drop daily...NO JOKE! I'm not perfect and I still have days I have a sweet tooth but I don't blow up and gain weight when I go off my nutrition plan now.

I highly recommend the book "Keto Clarity" by Jimmy Moore, which really helped me understand Keto eating and even gives recipes in the back of the book. I also suggest purchasing ketosis urine strips at your pharmacy which allows you to see when you are in ketosis and measures the level of ketones in your body. They range from $12-$15 in my area and if the Pharmacy doesn't keep in stock they can order them for you. It usually takes 2-3 days to see signs of ketosis on the strip. I decided to continue drinking my daily Shakeology while on Keto so I know for sure I am getting all my daily vitamins.
