If you are like me I work my tail off during the week but when the weekend comes around we all are faced with multiple temptations. You don't want all your hard work to be for nothing. How do you stay on track? I have collected tips that see me through the weekend, Bar-B-Q's and even holidays. Follow these tips and add your own and personalize your own game plan so you have a better chance of staying focused.
TIPS:
- Start your day off right, eat a healthy breakfast.
- Get your workouts in early in the mornings before the day gets busy.
- Use portion control. You can absolutely enjoy your favorite foods this weekend but instead of loading up a whopping serving spoon full of grandmas potato salad try a smaller 1/4 cup portion.
- Use the smaller plate for meals such as the salad plate or dessert plate. This will help with portion control as well and keep you from feeling bloated later.
- Be prepared, make healthy choices and take your own food to cookouts that you know will not spoil your hard work.
- Stay hydrated, so many times we feel hungry but really we are dehydrated. Throw in some blueberries and strawberries to kick things up a bit!
- Don't waste your daily calories on drinks, limit alcoholic beverages and sugary drinks.
- Eat BEFORE you attend events. Fill up on veggies and hummus, a shake, veggie omelet or something else that's light and filling.
- When eating out, choose grilled, baked or steamed.
What do you plan to do to stay on track? Let's be prepared to fight the weekend and holiday challenges head on so we don't fall backwards. I would love to hear from you so feel free to send me a private message on Facebook
