How Many Ounces of Water Should I be Drinking for Better Health and Weight Loss

I have heard that the body is made up mostly of water. I also understand that for the body to function we need water. However, when I started my fitness journey I was unsure how many ounces of water I needed to drink for my health and weight loss. I knew that water helped hydrate the skin, increased metabolism and gave the body energy.  I heard all my life that you need to drink 8 glasses of water, but being a numbers person working in Accounting, "glasses" are not all the same. I decided for my health and the health of my family I needed to dig a little deeper and figure out exactly how much water we needed to drink in a day.

Water gives us energy, healthy skin and increases metabolism for weight loss.


What did I discover????

The amount of water varies on the individual and their weight. There is a calculation, OK now that is right up my alley, that determines how much a person needs to drink during the day.

I Love Cold Water


Calculation

Body weight divided by 2 = ounces you need to drink during the day.

Ex. If you weigh 160 pounds divide by 2 = 80 ounces of water needs to be consumed during the day.

My cup holds 20 oz, @ 160 lbs I need to drink 4 cups


Having this equation has been a life saver....literally. I am able to keep my family healthy and pass on this info to my challengers. So now that you know the calculation you can figure out how many ounces of water you should be drinking for better health and weight loss. You should see improvement in your skin, metabolism and energy when you get the right amount of water in your body. See..... knowledge is power!!!
